Lieutenant Colonel (Retired) Alex Vindman is a 21-year U.S. Army combat veteran who served his country in the military and as a national security expert working for presidents of both parties. He and his family left the Soviet Union as refugees when he was three years old in search of freedom and opportunity in America. After a military career that moved him all over the world, Alex and his wife, Rachel, chose Florida as the place to settle with their family. 

Alex was wounded in Iraq and awarded a Purple Heart. As a Lieutenant Colonel, Alex led hundreds of people in high-pressure situations where lives depended on people devoted to the mission and not themselves. His military service took him from the battlefield to the Pentagon and the White House, where he served as a Director on the National Security Council staff.

Alex has always stood up for what’s right. During his time on the National Security Council, Alex witnessed a corrupt and illegal abuse of power by a president intent on undermining an election. As was his duty under the Constitution, he reported the wrongdoing.  His decision to blow the whistle led to the 2019 impeachment of President Trump, whose retribution ultimately cost him his 21-year military career. After his Army career Alex dedicated himself to public service outside of uniform, helping veterans run for office so they can serve as a check on corruption and abuse of power.

I’m not a politician. I served 21 years in the Army and I’ve served presidents of both parties. As someone who has spent time in government, I’ve seen just how corrupt politics can be. I stepped up when the country needed a soldier and I’m stepping up now to represent Floridians and fight the corruption and special interests that are driving up costs. 

After a lifetime of moving between deployments and postings, my wife Rachel and I chose Florida as the place to settle down and raise our family. Florida has given us the life we always dreamed of. For many Floridians, a good quality of life is increasingly out of reach. Cost of living is  sky-high, health care premiums are through the roof, and Florida homeowners pay some of the highest property insurance rates in the country. Politicians from both sides are completely out of touch with the average Floridian. They have prioritized their own interests over their constituents and have passed the costs onto the average person. 

Our system is rigged and Ashley Moody was hand-picked by the political elites who rigged it. She screwed Florida homeowners by caving to the big insurance companies, supported this administration that gutted disaster help for communities trying to rebuild, and had over a million dollars in her corporate stock traded last year while she had access to insider information only Congress gets.

After a life of service I am running for the United States Senate to be a common-sense voice for everyday Floridians who want a Senator who will stand up for them. The people of Florida want a Senator who will use the power of the office to crush corruption and cut costs instead of using it to make millions for themselves and their billionaire backers. I’m running for Senate to fix a system that has been rigged for the elites and fight for Florida’s hard-working families.
