Alex Vindman’s Florida First Agenda

Alex is running for U.S. Senate to cut costs and crush corruption

Costs are totally out of control. Florida needs a Senator who will cut costs and stand up for hardworking people and families, not bow down to the corporations jacking up our prices.

The Florida dream isn’t slipping away, it’s being priced out of reach. Costs are totally out of control. Groceries, gas, utility bills, insurance premiums — everything is going up except our paychecks. Too many Floridians are frustrated and stretched to the breaking point, lying awake at night worried about bouncing their next rent check, missing a car payment, or their credit card debt snowballing out of control.

Let’s be honest about how we got here: career politicians like Ashley Moody have looked the other way while corporations increase prices and pad their profits. Moody’s complicity has allowed the cost of living to inflate to new heights throughout Florida, all while she enriches herself. That’s not leadership — it’s selling out.

Alex believes in a different vision for Florida: if you work hard, you should be able to afford a good life, keep ahead of inflation, and lay the foundation for a prosperous future for you and your family.

That’s why Alex will fight to lower everyday costs — from groceries to energy bills — while building an economy that makes sure wages keep up with the cost of living. Alex supports tax relief for middle-class families, making the tax system fair for everyone, closing loopholes for tax cheats, and transparency measures that help crack down on corporate price gouging.

Alex believes in investing in public education and trades, small business, and enhancing Florida’s current economic drivers as well as building a 21st Century economy for Florida so that this and future generations have good-paying jobs and benefit from the state’s economic growth.

Both parties in Washington have given a pass to fraud, waste, and abuse. Alex is running to take on corruption.

Holding public office isn’t supposed to be a side hustle for personal gain, it should be about serving your constituents. Too many politicians are playing by different rules.

Politicians have forgotten what accountability looks like. They are in office for personal gain. They trade stocks on insider information. Dark money floods our elections. Ethics laws exist on paper but never in practice.

Both parties have been too comfortable with a system rigged for insiders, and ordinary Floridians are the ones paying the price.

As attorney general, Ashley Moody took hundreds of thousands of dollars from the insurance industry while refusing to hold them accountable as they failed to pay legitimate loss claims and increased premiums for Floridians. Then, she was appointed to the U.S. Senate and immediately used insider information to cash in. In her first few months in D.C., she traded over $2 million in stocks. This is a clear example of an elected official sacrificing the interests of constituents and the open corruption that so many Americans have grown tired of. Ashley has also traded big Pharma stock while sitting on the Senate’s Health Committee. Alex believes Congressional stock trading should be banned and the corrupt who have broken the trust of the people should go to jail.

Ashley Moody is a symptom of a rigged system that both parties have been slow to clean up for far too long. Nobody thinks it is fair for the billionaires and megacorporations to get tax cuts and get richer, while ordinary people get squeezed with higher taxes and sky-rocketing costs. Career politicians are too busy fighting for the special interests. That’s why they shift the cost onto ordinary Floridians who are drowning in debt because Washington insiders like Ashley Moody just don’t give a damn. Enough is enough.

The two parties in Washington are great at fighting each other, but have forgotten how to fight for you. As an Army veteran and former National Security professional, Alex isn’t a politician — he’s committed to doing things differently, doing the right thing, and delivering for Floridians over special interests and private lobbies.

Alex will ban insider trading by members of Congress and send them to jail when they break the law.

Alex already risked his career once to stand up for what is right. Now, he’s ready to fight to take on the fraud, waste, and abuse in Washington. He’ll push to ban members of Congress from trading stocks, crack down on dark money in our elections to ensure that the government works for the people, and strengthen ethics laws, with real consequences for abusers. Alex supports the expansion of congressional oversight and investigatory authorities to ensure that elected officials do not personally profit from the trust placed in them by their voters.

Alex hasn’t taken a dime in corporate PAC money because unlike Ashley Moody, he knows that if you want to clean up corruption, you don’t start by cashing corporate checks. If elected, Alex would join the growing ranks of legislators calling for a repeal of Citizens United and limiting the influence of dark money in American politics.

It’s time to end the Florida home insurance crisis that’s squeezing our families.

In Florida, we have the most expensive homeowners insurance in the country. Families are paying more and getting less from their insurance policies — if they can even get coverage at all. The continued rise in insurance costs has made homeownership feel even more untenable for countless Floridians.

As Attorney General, Ashley Moody could have taken action to hold big insurance companies accountable for spiking insurance rates. But instead, she didn’t lift a finger because she was taking campaign checks from those same insurance companies. In the Senate, she’s done nothing to address affordable housing — instead, she voted against FEMA funding intended to help Floridians rebuild their homes after storms. At every opportunity Ashley Moody has made decisions that have delivered for special interests, billionaires, and large corporations, while squeezing the finances of Floridians.

Alex will do things differently. He will take on the rising cost of insurance by increasing market competition, holding insurers accountable, and addressing the underlying risks driving up premiums. He supports smart investments in resilience and disaster mitigation to protect communities and keep costs down over the long term. Floridians deserve peace of mind, not bills that keep them up at night.

It’s never cost more to live in Florida. Alex’s top priority is making life more affordable for all Floridians.

Housing isn’t a luxury — it’s the foundation of a stable life of dignity and opportunity. Right now, that foundation is crumbling for countless Floridians, ranging from students and families to seniors and retirees.

The housing crisis extends beyond home insurance rates — the cost of rent across the state is too high and is pricing the next generation out of the Floridian dream. Today, on average, renters pay 38% of their monthly income for rent. That’s completely unsustainable and unacceptable.

We need to build more affordable housing and it needs to be done faster and smarter. That’s why Alex will work to cut red tape that slows construction and support policies that allow first-time homebuyers to break into the market. He will also take on corporate investors who view housing purely as a speculative asset and are buying up homes and driving up prices across the state.

By tackling the insurance crisis head-on, Alex will take the first step needed to make renting and owning a home more affordable for working families.

Every Floridian deserves the right to affordable health care and prescription drugs.

Health care is a right, not a privilege. No one should go broke to stay healthy. Alex will defend and strengthen the Affordable Care Act, lower drug prices, and expand access to quality, affordable care across all of Florida — including increasing funding for addiction services. Alex will strengthen Medicare by supporting legislation that adds dental and eye coverage to this life-saving program and expanding the state’s medicaid and medicare access programs.

Alex will take on Big Pharma. From fueling the opioid crisis to jacking up the cost of life-saving drugs, Big Pharma is crushing our state. Alex will investigate the role of Big Pharma in the opioid crisis and limit the ability of pharmaceutical companies to overcharge for the cost of medicine. Floridians are sick of watching our leaders let this happen — Alex has never backed down from a tough fight. Taking on Big Pharma and medical costs is a battle worth winning.

Ashley Moody has done the opposite. Moody has taken almost $100,000 from Big Pharma PACs and traded health care stocks, all while siding with the pharmaceutical companies. Moody voted for the largest cut to Medicaid in American history and opposes the lifesaving tax credits that help millions of Floridians afford their insurance.

Unlike Ashley Moody, Alex will always be on the side of patients, not Big Pharma profit margins.

Investing in strong public schools that prepare our kids for the future.

Alex is a proud girl dad, which is one of the reasons he believes every child deserves a high-quality education no matter their zip code.

This is possible with strong public schools, as the essential building-block for a strong economy.

Alex will invest in teachers, modern classrooms, and career and technical education. Florida’s youth must have the skills needed to thrive in a world shaped by innovative technologies and new forms of labor. Additionally, Alex will push back against efforts to defund or politicize public education, whether this comes in the form of sweeping cuts on a federal level, or ideologically motivated measures at the local level.

Ashley Moody, on the other hand, has attacked our public education system. She supports efforts to dismantle the Department of Education entirely, leaving Florida schools without the resources they need to take care of our kids, including children with special needs and low-income students.

Alex will fight back against these cuts to public education and focus on giving students the tools they need to succeed.

Steady foreign policy that keeps America safe and prosperous.

Alex served in the U.S. Army for over 21 years. He was wounded by a roadside bomb in Iraq and awarded a purple heart. He’s seen the cost of war up close.

We can’t keep repeating the same mistakes of previous administrations: no real priorities, short-sighted decisions that undermine national security, and spending billions of dollars on “forever wars” while families here at home are struggling to get by.

Our scattered foreign policy decision-making flows downstream from a larger dysfunction. The lack of vision, measured leadership, and experience is making the United States less safe and is jeopardizing our position as a world leader. The inconsistency and lack of strategy is making us weaker and contributes to our cost of living crisis. Alex believes that American greatness includes revitalizing American industry — Florida’s extensive network of ports, rich agricultural industries, large civilian workforce, a world-leading aerospace sector, and innovation must be a part of Florida’s economy. Alex believes investments in the jobs of today and the workforce of tomorrow, along with an affordable life-style will help keep the next generation in Florida.

Alex will bring a clear-eyed approach that defends our interests, supports our allies, and stops wasting lives and resources on conflicts that make the world more dangerous. Alex believes that American foreign policy must combine a values-oriented approach with decisions that keep costs lower and economically benefit all people. Unlike Ashley Moody, who continues to rubber stamp the war in Iran that is putting our servicemembers’ lives at risk and raising costs on families, Alex is a “hell no” on ill-considered, poorly conducted forever wars.

Alex will also ensure that our service members’ sacrifice is honored when they return home. That begins with increasing funding for the VA and other programs to support our veterans and military families. It also means investing in job training, affordable housing programs, and other initiatives that help veterans transition back into civilian life.

Taking care of America starts with taking care of Americans, starting right here in Florida. With the right vision and a commitment to cutting costs and crushing corruption, Alex can fix the problems facing our great state and ensure that the Florida dream is in reach for future generations.
